Mechanical Project Manager

We are looking for a talented and experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical engineering projects. This role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams while ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage mechanical engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring all project objectives are met.

  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.

  • Lead project teams, providing guidance and support to engineers and subcontractors.

  • Ensure that all mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical installations, comply with relevant regulations, standards, and client specifications.

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project requirements and deliverables.

  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to address challenges or changes in scope.

  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project status and ensure quality control.

  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.

  • Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to at all stages of the project.

  • Resolve any issues or technical problems that arise during the project lifecycle.

  • Implement cost control measures and ensure projects are delivered within budget.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical project management, preferably in the construction, engineering, or building services sectors.

  • Proven experience managing mechanical systems installations, including HVAC, piping, and mechanical services.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, building services engineering, and project management principles.

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with relevant UK health and safety standards and building codes.

  • Chartered status (e.g., CEng, IEng) with a professional engineering body is highly desirable.

  • Willingness to travel to various project sites within London.
