MEP Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled MEP Engineer to join our team, responsible for both mechanical and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in interpreting blueprints, implementing Building Management Systems (BMS), and performing a range of tasks related to plumbing and electrical services. The MEP Engineer will work both independently and collaboratively, ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and installation of mechanical and electrical systems in commercial settings.

Responsibilities:

Mechanical (Plumbing) Responsibilities:

  1. Work independently or as part of a team to undertake repairs and fault finding on commercial plant equipment.
  2. Install pipework for small systems, including sinks, toilets, and hand basins.
  3. Perform soil and waste pipe repairs and replacements.
  4. Install point-of-use water heaters and drain down/replace heating elements in Megaflow water storage heaters.
  5. Service, maintain, and install Sani-flow Macerators.
  6. Conduct dead-end pipe surveys and decommission relevant pipework.
  7. Service and maintain cold water booster sets, HWS, and CWS circulating pumps, including shunt pumps.
  8. Hold an NVQ or equivalent plumbing qualification.

Electrical Responsibilities:

  1. Work individually or as part of a team in electrical installation and repair projects.
  2. Execute wiring diagrams and carry out fixed wiring testing and compliance.
  3. Perform general wiring to sockets, lights, wall-mounted fans, and distribution boards, including 3 phases.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and building specifications.
  • Understanding and implementation of Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Experience in commercial electrical services.
  • Simultaneous proficiency in both mechanical and electrical tasks.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ or equivalent plumbing qualification.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical.
  • Level 3 Electrical Diploma.
  • 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.

Advantages:

  • Experience with Simmtronic lighting and ballast fault finding.
  • Previous work on 3-phase installations.
  • Ability to work with Building Management Systems (BMS).
